The Future in My Hands

I’ll speak a world of metaphors.
Of things not as they seem,
The darkness of humanity,
We’re living in a dream.

Corruption from the inside,
Apples rotting at the core,
The life is lost, the sweetness gone -
Just one more metaphor.

The sky is a dark chasm,
We’re left open and alone,
We’re forced and ripped and torn apart
By those we call our own.

All of us stand as stars,
Each of us shines with light,
But we stand alone and solitary,
Vulnerable in the night.

We’re impossible to unify,
We isolate ourselves.
And when our life comes to an end
We will consume the world.

But even as a tiny star
I pierce through like a knife,
And even though the apple rots
From there springs my new life.

The dark chasm of the sky
Is my portal to worlds unseen,
And my dreams lie in your nightmares
I decipher what they mean.

I’ll speak a world of metaphors,
Of things not as they seem,
The future of humanity,
My generation’s dream.
