My Family
If I’m going to tell you about my family
Then I have lots to say.
This might take up a whole day.
Relations? I have lots –
About a thousand I have got.
Let’s start with my Dad –
He can be a bit mad.
Laughing and joking
Nudging and poking.
He’s a bit of a handy man.
I bet he could fix
A Transit van.
He plays games with me –
I sit on his knee.
He loved me from birth.
He would go to the ends of the earth
Just for me, his little bee.
Then, there’s my Mum.
She fills up my tum
With mouth-watering scrumptious cakes.
When I am ill
She nurses me till
I am back to my utmost health.
I love her to bits
And when I am down in the pits
She gets me into laughing fits!
That’s my Mum – my best chum,
And I love her with all my heart.
Then there’s my blisters –
Oops! I meant sisters.
They’re a right pair of tricksters
And they’re persisters
At annoying me.
Although they’re all this
You just can’t miss
The kindness they show to me.
Helping out,
That’s what they’re about.
Without them
I would be ‘nowt’!
