Winter Calls
As the clouds darken the horizon,
And the calls of the migrating geese fade,
Winter is calling.
As the brightly coloured wings of the butterflies hide,
And the crimson leaves fall to the ground,
Winter is calling.
As the squirrels store their nuts away to prepare for the oncoming cold,
And the swallows turn their tail feathers south,
Winter is calling.
As the fires burn bright in the dark bitter night,
And the Christmas tree lights gently glow,
Winter is calling.
